چکیده
Due to growing environmental concerns and economical social problems in manufacturing sectors, there is a huge demand for the substitution of existing cutting fluids. Further, fluids selected are expected reduce force, improve surface roughness also minimize tool wear during machining operations. Hence, this paper discusses tribological morphological behaviour AISI 316L stainless steel while turning under minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) such as oil–water emulsion, mineral oil, simarouba pongam oil neem based on Taguchi L25 orthogonal array. From extensive experimentation, it was observed that MQL with speed (140, 140, 60 m/min), feed (0.30, 0.20, 0.10 mm/rev) depth cut (1.0, 1.0, 1.0 mm) resulted lowest (0.36 µm),cutting force (235.34 N) (100.32 microns), respectively. main effects plots analysis variance (ANOVA)can be successfully used identify optimum process input parameters their percentage contribution (P%) output applications. The results clearly indicate from both an ecological standpoint, most effective lubricant reducing forces, MQL.

Biomaterial Studies on AISI 316L Stainless Steel after Magnetoelectropolishing
The polarisation characteristics of the electropolishing process in a magnetic field (MEP – magnetoelectropolishing), in comparison with those obtained under standard/conventional process (EP) conditions, have been obtained. The occurrence of an EP plateau has been observed in view of the optimization of MEP process. Up-to-date stainless steel surface studies always indicated some amount of fre...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
متن کاملAntibacterial and Tribological Performance of Carbonitride Coatings Doped with W, Ti, Zr, or Cr Deposited on AISI 316L Stainless Steel
Carbonitride (CNx) coatings have existed for several decades but are not well understood. Related studies have indicated that CNx coatings exhibit behaviors comparable to diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings. Metal-doped CNx coatings are expected to show superior performance to single CNx coatings. In this study, a CNx coating and a group of CNx coatings with 6 at. % metal doping (W, Ti, Zr, or C...
متن کاملDesign and investigation of TiO2 –SiO2 thin films on AISI 316L stainless steel for tribological properties and corrosion protection
The TiO2–SiO2 thin films were deposited on AISI 316L stainless steel via sol-gel method. Then, the effect of the added amount of SiO2 on the structure, morphology and mechanical properties of the films and corrosion behavior of AISI 316L stainless steel substrate were investigated. So, X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, depth-sensing indenta...

The purpose of the study was evaluation of corrosion resistance of steel 316L used in cardiologic treatment mainly for vascular stents. The study analysed influence of electrochemical and chemical treatment of the steel surface, including sterilisation with pressurised water steam, on its corrosion characteristics. The tests were performed in artificial blood plasma simulating human blood envir...
